4G LTE is growing like crazy. It’s a whole new way of accessing things on your phone – with lightening speeds whether you’re surfing the web or video chatting on the go. But until recently, most devices that have been 4G LTE capable are expensive, and sometimes even intimidating. That’s one of the reasons I am so excited about the LG Lucid.

For only $79.99, you can get a 4G LTE device that’s packing way more specs than you might think for that pricetag. It’s also extremely user-friendly. It’s easy to figure out and easy to navigate – I especially love that you can easily access your call log (or dial pad), text messages and more without even having to unlock your phone. The Lucid let’s you get things done, without fiddling around on your phone.

The LG Lucid isn’t slacking on specs, either. It packs a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, so anything you’re doing is going to be smooth and fast. It also has an amazing 4″ touchscreen with 700 nits of brightness – and this means that even in direct sunlight you can perfectly see your screen. With these two things alone, with many devices, you may expect a lot of battery drain in a short amount of time – but I’ve been using the LG Lucid now for two days without charging. Navigation, two hours+ of phone calls, and more. I love it.

It also has a 5MP camera with LED flash, and is capable of capturing 1080p full HD video content. It has a great form factor, as well – the Lucid is both good looking and feels great in your hand. I’ve been lucky and have gotten my hands on a lot of devices in the last few years – and the LG Lucid has actually been one of my favorites.

If you’re in the market for a 4G LTE device but don’t want to spend a pretty penny, the Lucid is definitely something you’re going to want to check out.

For more on the LG Lucid, available on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network, check out this video. And for anything/everything LG Mobile, follow me on Twitter, @thelggirl. See ya!

On Saturday, the final four battled it out to see who would advance to the championship – and phew. What a couple of great games those were. One of my colleagues here with me is a big Louisville fan – and it was so fun to see her all decked out in team gear while cheering on her hometown boys. Unfortunately, Louisville fell to Kentucky (score), but she had an amazing time. After that game, Kansas beat Ohio State in one of the most exciting games this tournament – so that leaves Kentucky and Kansas playing tonight for the big championship.

On Sunday, we were up early and started our day here in New Orleans with some crawfish, eggs benedict and more of the amazing, strong coffee that I’ve come to love here. We then headed back to BracketTown for the LG Center Court Challenge – which aimed to re-enact some of the competition from the infamous historical Kentucky/Duke game many years ago. Of course, the competition had an LG twist – one former player from each team represented their schools and battled it out through a series of tasks with LG appliances, electronics and mobile phones. The coolest part was that in the end, LG made a donation in both of their names to some really amazing causes. I love it!

After BracketTown, we headed over to the nearby RiverWalk Mall, and we started out on our quest to visit some places in the city that had been recommended to us by our friends and my Twitter followers. That led to quite the fantastic day.

Anyone who knows me well knows that I have a gigantic sweet tooth. I love candies, cookies, desserts – you name it. But I had no idea what I was in for when I was told I had to go to Cafe du Monde and get a beignet.

A beignet is basically deep-fried dough covered in powdered sugar. And it. was. amazing. I got powdered sugar all over me and I loved every minute of it. Give me a beignet and a cup of black coffee and I will be content. I ate my beignet and then, coffee in hand, strolled around Jackson Square and the French Quarter, looking at some local art and taking everything in. Before I knew it, I was hungry again – and headed over to Coop’s. Coop’s is a bar/restaurant that a Twitter friend recommended to me, and when I looked it up I realized it was not too far from my hotel. I’m not sure about NOLA as a whole, but I felt like the French Quarter was extremely walkable (which the San Franciscan in me loves). Coop’s had a very cool vibe, and I got the fried chicken – it did not disappoint. After that, we went to Elm’s Mansion, which was the German Consulate during WWII. And then just kind of wandered, admiring the architecture.

Before the game today, we went to some of the parts of the city where the effects of Hurricane Katrina are still extremely apparent. In a vibrant, beautiful city, it was a reminder and an eye opener that what this area has been through is still very real – and how strong the people are that survived such chaos and tragedy.

I came to New Orleans because of LG’s involvement in the NCAA 2012 Men’s Final Four. But I got so much more out of this trip than I’d expected. The people here are so incredibly nice and helpful, the history is incredible, and the atmosphere is unlike anything I’ve ever seen.

I am now off to finish my trip at the championship game – Kentucky vs. Kansas – before I head home to San Francisco. I couldn’t have found my way and stayed connected without my phone, and I wouldn’t be here without LG – and I wouldn’t be quite as happy of a person without the…je ne sais quoi (but it’s pretty magical)…of New Orleans.

Hello from New Orleans! LG is an NCAA corporate partner again this year, so LG sent me here to cover all of the action in NOLA – from the games, to BracketTown, to the culture of this city.

This is my first time here, and I am completely amazed. It is different than any other city I’ve seen – there are a few of us on the LG team that have never been here, and we’re all in awe of the history and uniqueness here. Here are a few things I noticed in my limited time in the city today:

1) the coffee and food are amazing.

2) the people are super nice.
3) I’m surrounded by amazing architecture and history

4) it’s humid.

Today was a packed day – we filmed a welcome video and spent a lot of time in BracketTown and at the SuperDome for the Reese’s College All Star game. I did a dance with some giant candy bars. That video is coming tomorrow morning…

Tomorrow, we’ve got round one of the Final Four! On Sunday, I’m going to be exploring the city and checking out some of the places recommended to me by my Twitter friends. So stay tuned for more NOLA. I’m excited! We’ve got our camera charged and ready.

The LG Marquee is officially available! Okay, so what makes this smartphone stand out from the rest?

First of all, it’s one of the slimmest, lightest smartphones on the market – measuring just .36″ thick and weighing in at less than 4 ounces. It will definitely NOT be weighing you down or taking up too much space in your pocket or purse, that’s for sure.

Believe it or not, though, that’s not even the best part – the display on the Marquee might just be the star of the show. The Marquee features a NOVA display, that packs 700 nits of brightness. Okay, but what does that really mean?

There are a few different solid displays on the market, each with unique features. Some focus on high pixel density (resolution), others focus on making colors appear sharper and richer. The LG Marquee, while still having a sharp WVGA screen, focuses even more on brightness – and in my experience, hands down wins in a direct sunlight competition.

Come on, how many times have you been by the pool, having lunch on a patio or simply walking down the street and not been able to see your phone? We all want to do what we want to do on our phone no matter where we are, am I right? Whether it’s texting, checking sports scores, or checking work email by the pool on a ‘sick day (hey, I’m not judging).’

On top of all of the above, the LG Marquee is running Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread), which allows for video chatting on the go (using the 2MP front facing camera) no matter where you are from right within the native Google Talk application on your phone. So, you can video chat with ANYONE who has a Google Talk account and a webcam – whether they’re on a computer, a tablet, or a smartphone running 2.3.4 or higher. It also has a 1GHz processor and a 4″ capacitive touchscreen.

If you’re in the market for a new device, the LG Marquee is definitely one to consider. It is available NOW on Sprint.com and at national retailers like RadioShack – so make sure to check one out for yourself. The price ranges from $49.99-$99.99 with a new two year agreement…can’t beat it. Now get out there and actually fully use your phone…night AND (super sunny) day!

When LG told me that LG Mobile and AT&T were sponsors of this year’s Seafair festival in Seattle, Washington, I couldn’t believe it. I’ve gotten to do some amazing things with LG already, and now they were letting me cover my hometown summer festival…how cool, I thought. Little did I know just how awesome the weekend would end up being.

I was excited enough just to be able to go back to my hometown, cover the festivities, and hang out with the LG, AT&T and Seafair crews. I was set up to give away some LG Quantum phones, and interview some of the athletes at the event. Then more and more opportunities came my way.

Before I even landed in Seattle, AT&T hooked me up with VIP all access passes, that included access into the pits and the VIP hospitality tent. We had amazing views of everything – check out the pictures.

Thursday I interviewed JD Webb, a pro-wakeboarder, and Brian Perkins, the driver of the Albert Lee Appliance hydroplane. They were both super cool guys. Turned out that this was the first year at Seafair that for the wakeboarding experience, they were using a cable to pull the wakeboarders around – and JD was about to give Brian a wakeboarding lesson! Next thing I knew, they asked if I wanted to try it out. I’m not one to pass up an opportunity like that, so I jumped right in! Using the cable was a lot of fun – definitely a great way to wakeboard.

Fast forward to the next adventures of the weekend. Every year at Seafair, there are different airshows featuring stunt planes, and of course the Blue Angels. Well, I got to experience both of these things first hand…ahh!

Friday, I went up for a ride with the Red Eagles. I hung out with Billy and Dan, the pilots of the Red Eagle crew – I went up with Billy while Dan did flips around us – then Billy showed me some aerobatics of our own! He even let me steer the plane into a 360 degrees sideways loop, and then steer us back to our base. Definitely one of the coolest things I’ve ever had the opportunity to do – thank you, Billy, Dan and Jeff!

Saturday, I headed over to the part of Seattle that the Blue Angels depart from – to take a ride in Fat Albert, the Blue Angels support plane. It was incredible. We hit zero gravity three times! Before we took off, the crew asked me if I wanted to sit in the cockpit during the flight and they gave me a headset to listen in. Not only was it an incredible experience, but an entertaining one – the zero gravity thing was awesome (along with the rest of the flight) and the crew were all so friendly and funny.

Going up in the planes was a total natural high – I don’t know that I’ve ever experienced anything like it.

Saturday and Sunday, I hung out with the AT&T crew down in the heart of the Seafair festivities, and gave a few on stage LG Quantum demonstrations that ended with me giving a few lucky people a brand spankin’ new phone. 720p HD video recording, QWERTY keyboard, and XBox Live integration – gotta love it!

Overall, it was an absolutely fantastic weekend. I can’t thank LG, AT&T, Seafair, the Red Eagles or the Blue Angels enough – it was truly one of those ‘once in a lifetime’ kind of weekends.

The Revolution by LG is the first Android device (and first LTE device) to come preloaded with Netflix – and if you’re a Netflix fan, you’re going to love it on this device for numerous reasons.

First of all, we were just able to announce a very cool promotion: when you purchase the Revolution by LG, you get three FREE months of Netflix streaming on the device (if you’re a new customer, $7.99 will be credited to your bill for three months). So what else is cool about Netflix on the Revolution?

The pre-installed Netflix app on the Revolution by LG has features and perks that aren’t available in the app downloadable in the Android Market, including supporting a max 2350kbps bitrate and 960×720 (full HD) resolution (compared to max 500kbps bitrate and 480×360 resolution). Using the HDMI port, you can also easily watch movies streamed right from your phone to your big screen TV.

Picture this: you’re on a business trip or vacation, and you want to watch a movie. Open the Netflix app, choose a movie, and hook up your Revolution by LG to your TV via HDMI – then enjoy your movie, streamed right from your phone (on 3G, 4G LTE or WiFi). You’ll never have to pay for an in-room movie or movie rental again…

Or, maybe your flight is delayed and you’re bored in the airport. Fire that bad boy up and pass the time with a movie, right then and there, on your Revolution by LG.

The only other thing you’ll need is the popcorn.

The LG THRILL 4G will officially be landing exclusively at AT&T this summer!

When I got my hands on one of the global versions of these phones at CTIA, I was totally blown away by the power of this device. When it comes to specs, the THRILL 4G packs a 1GHz Texas Instruments dual-core, dual-channel processor, that helps remove the bottleneck effect that you might experience with other processors – and it’s tri-dual (adding in dual-memory!) configuration technology makes the speed and performance better than you can imagine. Anything you’re doing on this superpowered phone is going to be fast, smooth, and work so well you won’t even be thinking about what you’re doing – you can just DO it.

From movie graphics to gaming, everything performs beautifully and seamlessly on the 4.3” screen – but the unique thing about the display is the ability to view 3D content on it without glasses. How is this possible? It’s possible thanks to 3D technology called the Parallax Barrier.

So, whether you’re taking your OWN 3D videos using the stereoscopic camera on the back, or playing one of the preinstalled games (thanks to our partnership with Gameloft) like NOVA or Asphalt Origin, you can play, watch and enjoy in 3D, no glasses needed. And our partnership with YouTube allows for easy sharing of your own captured content, right from the device to YouTube 3D. Furthermore, everything will be crazy fast on AT&Ts 4G network.

We at LG believe that 3D is the future, and with devices like the LG THRILL 4G, we’re working to make 3D more accessible (you’re going to be happy with the price of the THRILL 4G, more to come on this), to simplify the technology (no glasses needed!), and to help grow the amount of 3D content that is out there. Let’s say my cat Fifi is doing something that I find to be hilarious. The only thing better than capturing it is capturing it in all of it’s glory, in 3D, right on my THRILL 4G. I can then upload it to YouTube 3D – since it’s already integrated into the device!

There is also a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera for video chatting, and an HDMI out port to connect your phone to your HDTV (or 3D capable TV to watch 3D content). It has a 5 megapixel camera with flash, and it includes a micro-HDMI cable, right out of the box. It records 720p HD 3D video, and 1080p full HD 2D video. And aesthetically, especially for a phone with a giant 4.3” inch screen, it’s slim, it’s light, and it’s sexy.

Whether you’re sold on the idea of 3D or not, the LG THRILL 4G is a superpowered smartphone, and with it’s tri-dual technology, will make ANYTHING you’re doing on your phone amazingly fast, amazingly smooth, and, well, amazing. Make sure to stay tuned for more information on the LG THRILL 4G, which will be available exclusively at AT&T this summer.

On top of all of this excitement, we have some awesome events planned in celebration of the THRILL 4G launch coming up…it’s going to be one ‘THRILLing’ summer. Yeah – I said it.

That’s right – E3, the gaming expo of all gaming expos, starts tomorrow. I’ll be there hangin’ with the LG and T-Mobile crews, and from what I hear they have plenty of fun things planned for me. Including potentially getting turned into a Zombie. Bring it on.

In the meantime, I’ve been passing the time with two games that have certainly kept me occupied and entertained. Make sure to download these for your flight to E3, your downtime at work, or wherever you may need a little gaming action.

1) RipTide GP

I first played this game at the T-Mobile G2x/G-Slate launch party in NYC, and I’ve been hooked ever since. It has been optimized for Tegra 2 devices, and one thing I love about this game is the attention to detail. The guys over at Vector Unit really put in the time here, and you can tell.

What is RipTide GP? Jetski races. You can even make your racer do tricks when they catch some air…very entertaining. ($6.99 in the Android Marketplace)

2) Galcon

An oldie but a goodie. Take over neutral and enemy planets by sending your ships to them, before your own planets are taken out. It’s simple and addicting, and you can play alone or against others. You can also team up with your friends. ($1.99 in the Android Marketplace)
